Hitec Special Measuring Systems developed a current measuring system for High Voltage Direct Current distribution based on the same Zero-flux™ product, but with different requirements. These systems need to be very reliable and robust designed to last at least 25 years.

The measurements are used for the regulation, protection and costing of the energy transmitted. Its main use is for the very accurate measurement of mostly direct currents on high-voltage transmission systems. Another common application is the control of reactive-current compensators. Peak currents up to 30 kA can be measured with an accuracy of 99.98 % at voltages up to 500 kV.

We have references at all HVDC companies involved in energy distribution networks and reactive current compensators. In general the benefits of the design of the Zero-flux™ current transformer measuring range, great stability and low ripple voltage. Result is a high-resolution system, which makes it possible to measure both very large and very small currents with exceptional accuracy.
